Midland College Baseball Improves to 8-3, Takes Two from WBU JV

The Midland College Chaps baseball team rode the hot bat of sophomore DH Brock Tijerina in a double-header sweep verus the Wayland Baptist University JV on Friday at Christensen Stadium. Tijerina, from Andrews, recorded five hits in six plate appearances and drove in 10 RBI over two games versus the Pioneers. The two wins, 12-2 and 13-3, improved MC's record to 8-3 this season.
Midland College's Tyler Boudreau picked up the game one victory on the mound and Carson Gibson got the win in relief of game two starter Daniel Bass.
Tuesday the Chaps will travel to Abilene for a double-header versus North Central Texas College (2-12). The games will be played at John J. Hunter Field on the Hardin-Simmons University campus. On Friday and Saturday the Chaparrals will host a talented Temple College Leopards (12-3) team in a three-game series at Christensen Stadium.
Friday the Leopards and Chaparrals will play a single game beginning at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 2nd MC and TC will play a noon double-header.
