The Midland College baseball team hopped the bus for Abilene and a Tuesday afternoon double-dip versus North Central Texas College of the NTJCAC. Midland College, now 10-3 this season, took both games by scores of 14-4 in a five-innning run rule victory and 7-6 in a comeback led by Brock Tijerina's two run homerun in the bottom of the 6th inning.
MC thirdbase Parker Ibrahami recorded two homers, one in each game, to supply an offensive punch for the Chaps. Justin Rumfield went 4-7 in the two wins for the Chaparrals. Jacob Kuhn picked up the game one win on the mound, with Raleigh Clark getting credit in game two.
Midland College will enjoy a little home cooking this weekend when they host an always-tough Temple College Leopards team for a three game series. The Chaparrals and Leopards will play a single, nine-inning game on Friday, March 1st beginning at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday MC and TC will play a noon double-header. All three games to be played at Christensen Stadium.
Go Chaps!
