The Midland College Chaparrals baseball team opens the 2025 season in a three-game series versus Alvin Community College from NJCAA Region 14. The Chaps went 44-16 last season, including 28-8 in conference and were the 2024 WJCAC Champions. Gone are the likes of Justin Rumfield, Kyle Lewis, Tyler Boudreau and Matt Guthmiller among other talented, now graduated members of last year's team.
This season the Chaparrals will be led by returnees who contributed significantly to last season's success. Jacob Kuhn (RHP), Ryan Marton (RHP), Parker Ibrahimi (IF) and Andrew Taylor (C) will provide leadership for the team which has attracted a solid freshman class to round out the squad.
Head Coach Hector Rodriguez provides experience and a steady hand at the helm. Assistant Coach Brady Roper consistently, but quietly contributes in the areas of recruitment and with the team's strength and conditioning program. Both Rodriguez and Roper are the sons of coaches, which allows them to navigate any challenges with rational thought and direct communications.
Midland College and Alvin Community College will open the season in San Antonio at the UTSA baseball complex, in a three-game series. The Chaparrals and Dolphins will play a single-game on Saturday, January 25th @ 5:00 p.m. followed by a Sunday double-header.
