MC's Jason Berglund lost his first game of the season. Berglund, a freshman from Parker (CO) is now 6-1 this season for the Chaparrals.
As the series moved to Midland for Saturday's double dip at Christensen Stadium, the Chaps were looking to turn things around and win the series. In the first game of the double-header MC started freshman Logan Flores on the bump. Flores scattered four hits over five innings, striking out five, picking up his fifth win of the season against two losses. MC won the game in a five-inning run rule by a score of 11-1. Midland College's hitters pounded out 14 hits, including five homeruns.
Saturday's finale was one for the ages! Over the next two innings, MC outscored HC 14 runs to two to take the lead headed into the top of the ninth. The remarkable comeback by the Chaparrals was sealed by clutch pitching by Carson Gibson and Aiden Cline who slammed the door on the Hawks with a final score of 22-19.
