Grayson College Vikings vs Midland College Chaparrals

The #3 Midland College baseball team improved to 13-0 this season after Tuesday's 4-0 shutout versus Grayson College. Midland College head baseball coach Hector Rodriguez employed what was essentially a "bullpen game" against the Vikings. The Chaparrals used a total of eight pitchers, with outstanding results, in the game. The MC pitching staff held Grayson College to seven scattered hits with only conceding two bases on balls. The Chaps struckout 10 Grayson batters in the shutout.
Offensively, MC was led by freshman Bammer Maes and sophomore Stevyn Andrachick who each went 2-3 in the contest. MC freshman Caiden Olivas also smacked a home run (4) in the bottom of the 8th inning to record his 23rd RBI this season.
With the win, MC remains undefeated headed into their next three games. On Friday, the Chaparrals will play against Temple College in a single, nine-inning game at Christensen Stadium. Note: Friday's game time has changed to a 2:30 p.m. first pitch. On Saturday Midland College will take on Weatherford College in a noon double-header, also at Christensen Stadium.
Grayson, Temple and Weatherford Colleges are each members of the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region 5. There's a great chance for the Chaparrals to meet one of these teams in the 2026 Region 5 Baseball Tournament.
