Chaps Remain #2 Nationally After Sweep of EPCC, On the Road to NMMI for Four-Game WJCAC Series
The Chaparrals outscored the Tejanos 45-21 over the four-game series and improved to 27-1 in the WJCAC.

The Midland College Chaparrals continued their winning ways with a four-game sweep of El Paso Community College, last weekend in Midland. The Chaps improved to 42-4 on the season and 27-1 in the WJCAC (first place in the WJCAC standings). MC relied on prolific offensive production and solid pitching to overwhelm the EPCC Tejanos by a combined 45 runs to 21. MC ranks among the nation's top offensive teams, including: 2nd in Slugging Percentage (.777), 3rd in Batting Average (.400) and OBS (.515), 3rd in XBH (268) and 6th in RBI (535).

Versus EPCC Caleb Eager, Bammer Maes, Dylon Myrow, Caiden Olivas and Brennan McTavish were among the Chaps who enjoyed offensive success over multiple games. MC's Eager recorded a "cycle" in the Chaps 16-12, game two win over the Tejanos. In addition to the offensive onslaught, the MC pitching rotation was spectacular led by Logan Flores win in game one of the series. Flores improved to 11-0 this season for the Chaparrals ranking him in a tie for first in total wins in the NJCAA rankings. Keller Lindeman improved to 5-1 this season with a win in the weekend's second game. MC's Clayton Norrell and Carson Haffner also recorded wins over the weekend.
Midland College will now hit the road for a weekend series at New Mexico Military Institute. NMMI currently sits in third place in the WJCAC standings with a season record of 34-14 and a conference record of 18-10. The Broncos are a tough out as exemplified by their three wins versus Howard College in Big Spring. In their last conference outings, the Broncos lost three of four to Odessa College on the road in Odessa.
