Chaparrals Take On #1 South Plains in an Important Contest

The Midland College Chaparrals hosts their toughest opponent of the year when they take on #1 South Plains College at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center in Midland. Midland College, 15-6 overall and 4-3 in the WJCAC, faces a potent SPC squad. SPC is currently 21-0 and 7-0 this season.
Midland College will need to be efficient on offense and tough defensively in tonight's game. The Chaparrals are led by freshman Trey Clarke who is scoring at a 16.6 ppg clip. Sophomore guard Jarren Cook chips in with 15.9 points per contest followed by fellow sophomore guard Leon Williams at 10.1 points per game.
The Chaparrals narrowly defeated Clarendon College on Thursday, 80-78, at the Chap Center, while SPC survived a dog fight at Odessa College by a score of 67-66 to continue their undefeated season. The Texans are led by four sophomore who each score in double-figures. Leading scorer Jabori Mcghee posts a scoring average of just under 19 points per game.
The Chaparrals and Texans are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. Tickets are $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per student and seniors (age 65 and older). Midland College students and employees are admitted for free.
