The Midland College Chaps face off against the NMJC Thunderbirds in a critical WJCAC contest with post-season implications for both teams. The Chaparrals, 17-8 overall and 6-5 in the WJCAC, are tied for fourth place in conference, only a half game ahead of the Thunderbirds heading into the showdown game in the cozy confines of the Chaparral Center.
Midland College is seeking to avenge an earlier loss to NMJC, 95-93, on January 22nd in Hobbs. To do so the Chaps will need several team members to step into the void created by recent injuries. MC's Curtis Harrison rejoined the team on Monday versus Frank Phillips College which has added size and depth to the lineup. Harrison was taken out of rotation after aggravating a previous injury. Freshman Jaden Kempson (Bronx, NY) can be an answer for the Chaps over the final five regular season contests. Leading scorer Jarren Cook, as well as, Nate Tabor and Luke Davis each will need to expand their roles to lead the Chaps into the post-season.
The New Mexico Junior College versus Midland College Chaparrals game is scheduled for Thursday, February 22nd @ 7:30 p.m. at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center on the Midland College campus.
