Midland College Golf
South Central Regional / District 2 Championship Tournament
Quicksand Golf Course in San Angelo, TX
April 29-20, 2024
The Midland College golf team was well-positioned to make a strong move in the final round of the South Central Regional Championship Tournament, however, the golf gods had other ideas. Midland College, the #2 ranked team in NJCAA Men's Divison I, finished in a third place tie in the event, behind tournament champion Odessa College, runner-up New Mexico Junior College and tied with McLennan Community College. The Chaparrals shot 278-297-284--851 (-13) over 54 holes.
MC's Logan Zurn had a strong three-round performance in the event shooting 66-67-74--207 (-9) to tie for second place in the individual standings, one stroke out of first place.
The Chaps will have a brief period of rest, recovery and refocus before heading to Hobbs, NM for the 2024 NJCAA Men's Division I Golf National Tournament (May 14-17) at the Rockwind Community Links Course. Midland College finished in third place at last year's national tournament.
Congratulations to Coach Walt Williams and the Midland College Chaparrals golf team!
Best of luck at the National Tournament, Chaps!
