Midland College Golf Takes the Top Spot in the First NJCAA National Men's Division I Poll

The Midland College golf team was named the #1 team in NJCAA Men's Division I according to the first national poll of the season. The Chaparrals have performed superbly over five fall tournaments, thus far, including competing in two NCAA Division I events at Wichita State University and New Mexico State University.

Midland College coach Walt Williams has recruited a talented and competitive group which is comprised of five sophomores and six freshmen. The second-year team members include: Benjamin Lund-Ravn, Dallas Baptist University transfer Bryce Womack, Jayton Vaughn, Todd Parker and Trace Roger. The freshman class of Chaps include: Harrison Sewell, Hunter Welch, Jacob Cole, Max Aalto, Reuben Harvey and Scott Spark. Spark, Womack and Sewell are each ranked among the Top 10 individual players according to the Clippd Scoreboard rankings (October 16).
The Chaparrals will conclude the fall semester of competition when they enter the 54-hole Odessa College Wrangler Invitational at the Odessa Country Club (October 31-November 1).
