#1 Midland College Golf Finishes Second at the Waco River Classic Tournament
The MC golf team made a strong push for the tournament title in the Waco River Classic at Waco, TX (September 15-16) at the Bear Ridge Golf Course.

The #1 ranked Midland College Chaparrals made a strong showing finishing in second place at the Waco River Classic Tournament in Waco. The Tournament was hosted by McLennan Community College, who narrowly won the team title by two strokes after the 54 hole competition. MC remained in close contention for the team title over the duration of the two-day day event.
The Midland College team was comprised of Reuben Harvey, Scott Spark, Oskar Falshoj, Hunter Welch and Kalle Blixt. MC's Michael Flaherty, Awesome Burnett, Yaser Garcia, Jr., Payton Benneweis, Leo Powell and Samuel Broussard each played as individuals in the event.
Chaparrals sophomore Harvey, who played at a high level throughout the three rounds, finished as the runner-up medalist in the event. Spark finished in 8th place for the Chaps. Harvey posted scores of 69-71-73--213 (-3) while Spark shot 72-72-72--216 (E).

Next up for the Chaparrals is the High Country Shootout at the Links at Sierra Blanca Course in Ruidoso, NM. The High Country Shootout is scheduled for September 22-23rd.
