The Midland College golf team will continue tournament play on Monday September 22 and Tuesday September 23 at the High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, NM. Midland College will join a solid field of ranked two-year college teams at the Shootout. The tournament will be played at the Links at Sierra Blanca Course (6,793 yard, Par 72).

The Chaparrals are currently ranked first among two-year college programs according to the most recent Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll (September 19, 2025). The Chaps are led by 2025 National Coach of the Year and NJCAA Golf Coaches Hall of Famer, Walt Williams who has assembled a talent group of newcomers along with three outstanding returnees. Midland College has topped the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll for for nine straight polls, dating back to the spring semester of 2025.

Chaps sophomores Reuben Harvey and Scott Spark are expected to be in contention for individual medalist honors, with the Chaps as a strong favorite to win the team title. Harvey, Spark, Hunter Welch, Oskar Falshoj and Kalle Blixt will comprise the tournament team for the Chaparrals.
