The next stop for the MC golf team is the NCAA Division I Grier Jones Invitational hosted by Wichita State University. The Grier Jones Invitational will be played at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, KS. The tournament will have a solid field of NCAA Division I universities as well as the NJCAA's #1 ranked MC Chaps, # 3 Hutchinson Community College, #4 Indian Hills Community College, #5 Odessa College. In total the field will feature nine four-year universities and six top two-year college programs.
Golf Coaches Hall of Famer Walt Williams will lead the Chaparrals in a return to the site of MC's 2025 NJCAA Men's Division I national championship, the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, KS. Sand Creek Station will also be the site of the 2026 NJCAA Men's Division I National Championship Tournament (May 12-15, 2026). The Grier Jones Invitational will be the stiffest competition faced by the Chaps in the fall semester.

After three fall semester tournaments, Midland College has posted one team championship and two runner-up finishes. The Chaps have received strong performances by sophomores Reuben Harvey, Scott Spark and Hunter Welch. Freshmen Kalle Blixt and Oskar Falshoj have played incredibly well after only one month of college golf. Fellow freshman Leo Powell has made a name for himself after strong recent showings.
