The Midland College golf team had an outstanding showing at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational Tournament in Newton, KS. The Grier Jones event was hosted by Wichita State University and featured a field of 17 teams. 11 NCAA Division I teams and six NJCAA Division I teams comprised the field which was played at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, KS. The Sand Creek Station course proved to be a familiar one to several of the MC Chap golf team members as it was the site of their 2025 NJCAA Men's Division I National Championship victory.
The Chaparrals outpaced all but four of the NCAA Division I teams and outdistanced the other five NJCAA Division I teams in the tournament field. Midland College shot a 54-hole team score of 871 which was seven overpar. MC finished 5th in the team standings behind NCAA Division I universities Kansas City, St. Thomas (MN), Wichita State and Drake.
