Midland College's Spark Leads the Chaparrals Into the NCTC Spring Invitational

The #4 ranked Midland College golf team opens the spring semester of play at the NCTC Spring Invitational hosted by North Central Texas College. The tournament field includes #2 McLennan Community College, #6 Weatherford College, #11 Tyler Junior College, #12 Blinn College, #14 New Mexico Junior College, Murray State College (OK), Jacksonville College, Seminole State College (OK), Collin County Community College, the host college North Central Texas College and #4 Midland College.

The Chaps officially opened the semester schedule on Friday, February 20th at the 36-hole West Texas / New Mexico Challenge in Denver City, TX. MC, New Mexico Junior College and New Mexico Military Institute participated in the event which was played at the Yoakum County Golf Club. Midland College won the team title led by individual champion Scott Spark.
MC is expected to be one of the favorites for the NCTC Spring Invitational team championship, while Spark, Reuben Harvey, Oskar Falshoj and Hunter Welch are predicted to be strong competitors for the individual medalist title and the all-tournament team.
