#4 Midland College Golf Finishes in Second at NCTC Spring Invitational, Spark Takes the Individual Title
The Midland College golf team rebounded from fourth place after the first two rounds of the NCTC Spring Invitational, to finish as the runner-up team after 54 holes.

The #4 ranked Midland College golf team struggled out of the gate in the first round of the NCTC Spring Invitational. After 18 holes the Chaps sat in fourth place behind McLennan CC, Tyler Junior College and Weatherford College. Midland College shot 293 (+5) in the tournament's first round. In Tuesday's second round, Midland College surged past McLennan and Tyler to finish in second place behind Weatherford College. The Weatherford College Coyotes posted scores of 286-289--575 (-1) to outpace the Chaparrals by eight strokes.
Midland College's Scott Spark took the individual title with scores of 68-73--141 (-3) followed by Weatherford's Tanaka Chatora who finished one stroke behind Spark. The Midland College squad was comprised of Spark, Reuben Harvey, Awesome Burnett, Hunter Welch, Kalle Blixt and Yaser Garcia, Jr. Spark, Harvey, Burnett and Welch are all sophomores while Blixt and Garcia, Jr are freshmen.

The Chaparrals will return to tournament play at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in Sugar Land, TX hosted by Houston Christian University (NCAA I). The Colin Montgomerie Invitational will be played at the Sweetwater Country Club, March 2nd-3rd.
