Midland College Finishes Sixth in Colin Montgomerie HCU Invite, To Host the TankLogix Tall City Exploration Tourney
The Midland College golf team finished in sixth place at the Colin Montgomerie HCU Invitational as the only two-year college team in the eleven team field.

The Midland College golf team will return to the links on Monday, March 8th when they host the 2026 TankLogix Tall City Exploration Green Tree Invitational at the Green Tree Country Club in Midland. The Chaparrals have been road warriors this spring after playing in The Texas New Mexico Challenge in Denver City, TX; the NCTC Invitational Tournament in Corinth, TX and the Colin Montgomerie HCU Invitational hosted by Houston Christian University in Sugar Land, TX. All told Coach Walt Williams and the Chaparrals have logged approximately 1,800 miles to play in three tournaments, including the Colin Montgomerie Invitational. The Chaps were the only NJCAA team in the tournament field, finishing in 6th place (ahead of nine four-year teams).
The Chaps will host 11 NJCAA Divison I Men's golf teams as well as three individuals from Howard University (NCAA I) and one individual from Texas Tech University (NCAA I). NJCAA member colleges ranked in the Top 10 include No. 4 Midland College Chaps, #2 Odessa College, #3 McLennan CC, #6 Weatheford and #10 Garden City CC (KS).

Midland College will field two teams, MC "A" and MC "B" comprised of Scott Spark (the NJCAA's No. 1 ranked player), Reuben Harvey (23rd), Oskar Falshoj (42nd), Hunter Welch (45th), Leo Powell (66th), Kalle Blixt (#68), Awesome Burnett (#92), Yaser Garcia, Jr (108th), Michael Flaherty (148th), Samuel Broussard (#152) and Jasper Pippig (NR).

The 54-hole event will begin play on Monday, March 9th with a 9:00 a.m. (CDT) shotgun start. Teams will play two rounds (36-holes) on Monday. The tournament will conclude with the final 18-holes on Tuesday, March 10th.
