The Midland College golf team will look to continue their recent success as they take on some of the NJCAA's top teams at the 2026 NJCAA Region 5 Golf Championships.  The Region 5 Tournanent is being played at the Legends Golf Course and Villas in Kingsland (Par 72, 7159 Yards).  The tournament field includes #2 Odessa College, #3 McLennan Community College, #5 Weatherford College, #13 New Mexico Junior College as well as #6 Midland College.  All told the tournament field includes 11 teams from NJCAA Region 5 (West Texas and New Mexico).

The MC coach Walt Williams' tournament team is comprised of Scott Spark, the #1 individual player in NJCAA Division I golf, along with Reuben Harvey, Kalle Blixt, Hunter Welch, Leo Powell and Jasper Pippig.  Pippig will compete as an alternate team member. 

The Chaparrals won their previous spring tournament outing at the NMJC Thunderbird Invitational in Hobbs, NM March 30-31.  Williams is hoping to see the Chaps peak heading into the post-season gauntlet with an eye on the NJCAA Men's Division I Golf Tournament at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, KS.  Sand Creek Station was the site of MC's 2025 national title win.
