Midland College Lady Chaps Softball Mow Down the FPC Lady Plainsmen in Four Games

The MC softball team pounded out 53 hits and 58 RBI in the sweep of FPC

The Lady Chaps softball team rolled to a second consecutive series sweep, this time against the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen in a four-game WJCAC series at Borger, TX.  With the wins Midland College improved to 31-6 overall and 8-0 in conference.  MC had previously swept Clarendon College in the conference opening series.  MC displayed phenomenal pitching and proficient offensive talent to hold FPC to seven total runs in the four games.  None of the four games went past the fifth inning.  Midland College posted 53 hits, 58 RBI and seven homeruns.  Scores from the games:  14-0, 21-4, 18-0 and 11-3.  

MC's freshman phenom Emma Lovato recorded a five inning, no-hitter, striking out 12 of 15 batters in the first game of the series.  Lovato came back in game #3 to hold FPC to one hit the Lady Plainsmen over five innings, striking out 12 to improve to 14-4 this season.  Katelynn Perez also picked up two wins to improve to 11-1 in the circle.  

Sophomore shortstop Clarissa Estrada went 7-11 (.636) at the plate and drove in 11 runs.  Perez, Madyson Bradley, Erikha Subia and Azalea Ramos shined offensively for the Lady Chaps.

Thursday, April 4th @ 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. versus the Odessa College Lady Wranglers in Midland; Friday, April 5th @ 1:00 p.m. versus the the Odessa College Wranglers in Odessa.
