The Midland College softball hit the road for a Tuesday afternoon double-header versus Weatherford College. The Coyotes are always among the top teams in the NTJCAC and will be a great early season test for the Lady Chaps. Midland College is currently 3-3 this season after sweeping a double-header with Ranger College.
MC has a few areas of concern, including identifying who will be the "go to" pitchers this season for a young and unproven staff. Additionally, the Lady Chaps will need to become more consistent at the plate and decrease the number of strikeouts.
Leaders for the Lady Chaps are Jayci Johnson, Erikha Ibarra and Jalyn Montes. Johnson, Ibarra and Montes are hitting .455, .444 and .429 respectively.
Weatherford is 6-0 this season with wins over Kilgore College (2), NOC-Enid (2), Paris Junior College and Northeast Texas Community College.
Midland College will open up the home portion of the 2025 schedule when they host Luna Community College in a Friday double-header beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Lady Chaps Field.
