Midland College Lady Chaps vs Weatherford College Coyotes
Weatherford, TX
The Midland returned to play after an inadvertant seven-day break from competition. After rain and cold forced the cancelation of the Lady Chaps double-header with Navarro College on Saturday, February 14th, the Lady Chaps were eager to get on the field versus NTJCAC power, Weatherford College in Weatherford.
After struggling for offensive production in the first game versus Weatherford, Midland College returned to form in game two. The Coyotes took the first game by a score of 4-1. MC couldn't find an answer against WC pitcher Sarah Hanf. Hanf held the Lady Chaps to a single hit in the contest.
In game two the Lady Chaps bounced back and out-hit the Coyotes nine hits to four, with MC winning 3-1. Midland College freshman Jozanna Montes and sophomre hurler Anays Perez were the offensive catalysts for the Lady Chaps. Perez also recorded her fifth win of the season against no losses. Midland College improved to 9-1 on the season headed into their next games on Friday, February 27th and Saturday the 28th.
The Lady Chaps will host Blinn College in a double-header on Friday at 1:00 p.m. MC will also host Lamar Community College (CO) in an 11:00 a.m. double-header on Saturday the 28th. All four games will be played at Lady Chaps Field on the Midland College campus.
Go Lady Chaps!
