Bio

Angelica “Angel” Castro serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Midland College Athletics, where she supports strategic planning, departmental operations, compliance, student-athlete success initiatives, and the continued growth of the College’s athletic programs.

Castro joined Midland College in 2020 as head coach of the Chaparrals softball program and spent six years leading one of the College’s most successful athletic programs. In addition to overseeing all aspects of the softball program, she worked closely with campus leadership, student services, and athletic department personnel to support student-athlete achievement both on and off the field.

Prior to Midland College, Castro held coaching and leadership positions at Coastal Bend College and Paris Junior College, gaining extensive experience in program administration, recruitment, budgeting, academic support, compliance, and student-athlete development. Her broad background in collegiate athletics has prepared her to serve in a leadership role focused on advancing the overall mission of Midland College Athletics.

Castro earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas Permian Basin and a Master of Science in Physical Education from Eastern New Mexico University. Her combination of academic preparation, leadership experience, and commitment to student success provides a strong foundation for her work as Assistant Athletic Director.

In her current role, Castro is dedicated to enhancing the student-athlete experience, supporting coaches and staff, strengthening departmental operations, and helping position Midland College Athletics for continued success.
