The Midland College Lady Chaps basketball team appear to have put aside their late season struggles to post their second consecutive win at Clarendon College. MC improved to 14-13 on the season, including a 5-8 WJCAC record. The win kept Midland College's playoff aspirations alive.
Midland College went on the road to avenge a February 1st loss to the Lady Bulldogs at the Chaparral Center (82-76). On Monday Midland College outscored Clarendon College 71-59.
To improve their post-season chances the Lady Chaps will need to defeat South Plains College on Thursday at Levelland and hope for a Clarendon College loss versus New Mexico Junior College (in Clarendon). That scenario would create a three-way tie (South Plains College, Clarendon College and Midland College) for the third seed in the Western Conference. A complicated tiebreaker would decide which two of the three teams would advance to the Region 5 Basketball Tournament.
In the win at Clarendon College Midland College was led by freshman forward Dee Henderson who recorded 14 points in the contest. Franka Kraus chipped in with 12 points and four rebounds for the Lady Chaps.
Go Lady Chaps!
