1-1 Lady Chaps Basketball Headed to Colorado to Take on Air Force Prep and Lamar Community College
The Midland College women's basketball team split their season opening games at the South Plains College Classic in Levelland.

The Midland College Lady Chaps basketball team opened the 2024-2025 season in the South Plains College Classic (November 1-2) in Levelland. MC opened the season versus Coastal Bend College and defeated the Cougars 90-54. MC's Endija Sedlina contributed a "double-double" with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Lady Chaps Dee Henderson and Janna Dauer chipped in with 10 points each. MC sophomore post player, Josie Hummel, pulled down 13 rebounds versus CBC. Final score Midland College 90, Coastal Bend College 54.
On Saturday the Lady Chaps squared off against Cochise College (AZ) in a contest that was highly competitive throughout. Once again the Lady Chaps spread the offensive load among several team members, led by Riley Burd's 13 points and five rebounds followed by freshman Mia Ross who scored 11 points. MC's Toyah Montgomery also scored in double-digits with 10 points versus the Apaches. Cochise College defeated Midland College 66-57 to drop the Lady Chaps to 1-1 on the season.
The Lady Chaps return to the hardwood when they travel to Lamar Community College (CO) to play in the Lamar Community College Antelope Classic. On Friday Midland College will take on Air Force Prep, followed by a Saturday contest versus Lamar Community College.
