The time is now for the Lady Chaps to mount a surge in the second half of the WJCAC schedule and to resuscitate their, once-promising, season. In order to begin to move up in the conference standings, the Lady Chaps will need to play to their potential when they host #17 ranked Clarendon College in a Thursday night tilt in Midland.
Midland College fell to 12-10 this season and 1-6 in conference after suffering a hard-fought loss to the Howard College Hawks (80-77) on Monday evening at the Chaparral Center. The game held fans spellbound from the opening tip to the final buzzer, in a game that featured 10 lead changes and four ties over the 40-minute contest.
MC seems to play their best basketball against their toughest opponents. They'll have to do just that against the Clarendon College Bulldogs. Clarendon College comes in at 22-1 and 7-0 in the WJCAC. MC opened conference play at Clarendon College a month earlier, with the Lady Chaps suffering a 71-50 loss.
The Lady Chaps will look to offset Clarendon's scoring and rebounding potential in order to pull off an upset. Diana Szakolczi, Latisha Wilson, Sumaiya Ibrahim and Claudia Chessari will need to lead the Lady Chaps to a victory by playing up to their abilities.
