Gafford Records First Two Wins as Head Coach of the Lady Chaps
Midland College head coach Kristina Gafford leads the Lady Chaps to two straight wins to open the 2024 season

The Midland College volleyball team opened the 2024 season, hosting the MC Kick-Off Classic at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. The Lady Chaps took on the Lee College navigators on Thursday night, then played the North Central Texas College Lions in a Friday night contest. Midland College took both matches, 3-0, to improve to 2-0 on the season. It marked the first two wins in the head coaching career of Kristina Gafford. Gafford had been the assistant coach and was named head coach in July.
Midland College is scheduled to play two matches on Saturday, August 24th versus #17 Colby Community College at noon and against Panola College in a 4:00 p.m. match. Both matches promise to test the tenacity of the young MC team. The Lady Chaps return only four members of the 2023 team.
