Lady Chaps Earn Second Consecutive WJCAC Win Over WTC, Travel to Borger on Wednesday

The Midland College volleyball team picked up their second straight WJCAC win, in dominating fashion, on Saturday at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. MC previously defeated Amarillo College three games to one. In the match with WTC, Midland College took early control and didn't let up in the 25-12, 25-16, 25-14 win.
Lady Chap Iasmin Araujo lead the match with 13 kills followed by Martina Frangella's 10 kills with a .529 kill percentage. MC's Amarilis Cortes recorded a highly efficient .500 kill percentage, contributing seven kills on 14 total attacks. Freshman Ksenija Sokic led both teams with 20 digs in the contest.
Midland College improved to 7-13 this season, including 4-6 in the WJCAC. The win pulled Midland College into a three-way tie for fourth place in conference. MC is currently tied with Amarillo College and Frank Phillips College in the conference standings, each at 4-6.
MC will travel to Borger, for a showdown with Frank Phillips College, on Wednesday, October 23rd @ 6:00 p.m. A Midland College at FPC win will improve the Lady Chaps' post season chances.
