Midland College Kick-Off Classic 

August 21-23, 2025

The 2025 edition of the Midland College Lady Chaps volleyball team will host their annual Kick-Off Classic beginning on Thursday, August 21st at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center on the Midland College campus.  The "Classic" will feature six of the best two-year college programs in the NJCAA, including #3 ranked Colby Community College of Kansas.  

Participating Teams: 
#3 Colby Community College (KS), Lee College (TX), New Mexico Junior College, North Central Texas College, North Idaho College, Midland College.

The Lady Chaps return a solid group of players, including second-year players (Ksenija Sokic, Eduarda Silva, Hailey Reyes, Iasmin Araujo, Martina Frangella, Jordan Eager, Ipek Kusoglu, Noa Reculard, Julia Klimowicz).  Klimowicz retained her freshman year of eligibility due to a season-ending injury in 2024.  Coach Kristina Gafford also added sophomore transfer Luisina Sandrone to the mix.  In the final analysis, Midland College will put a seasoned team on the court in 2025.  The freshmen additions to the team, include:  Jaycee Portillo, Mia Bell, Julia Paluch, Laura Romao, and Zeynep Gumusay.  

Reculard (Grasse, France) was named to the 2024 All-WJCAC first team.  Araujo (Minas Gerais, Brazil) and Frangella (Santa Fe, Argentina) were Honorable Mention selections in 2024.  

The Midland College coaching staff added a new assistant coach to the program.  Former UTPB standout and Lubbock, TX native Aaliyah Gray joined the Lady Chaps over the summer and is making immediate contributions to the team's development.

Friday, August 22nd:

@ 10:30 a.m.  Colby Community College vs. Lee College

@ 12:30 p.m.  North Central Texas College vs. North Idaho College

@ 2:30 p.m.  Colby Community College vs. Midland College

@ 4:30 p.m.  Lee College vs. New Mexico Junior College

@ 6:30 p.m.  North Idaho College vs. Midland College

Saturday, August 23rd:

@ 8:00 a.m.  New Mexico Junior College vs. North Central Texas College

@ 10:00 a.m.  North Idaho College vs. Colby Community College

@ 12:00 p.m.  Lee College vs. North Central Texas College

@ 2:00 p.m.  Colby Community College vs. New Mexico Junior College

@ 4:00 p.m.  Lee College vs. Midland College
