Roswell, NM
The Midland College volleyball team will need to give their best efforts of the year in their final two regular season matches, in order to secure a playoff berth in next week's NJCAA Region 5 Tournament in Weatherford. The Lady Chaps are currently 13-11 on the season and 5-7 in the WJCAC and are tied for the final playoff spot headed into Wednesday's match at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. Midland College, New Mexico Junior College and Amarillo College are each knotted in a fourth place tie.
The Lady Chaps will travel to #12 NMMI, Amarillo College hosts #11 Frank Phillips and New Mexico Junior College plays host to #8 Odessa College. To complicate matters even more Clarendon College sits one match behind MC, AC and NMJC in the conference standings. Clarendon, playing their best volleyball of the season, will play last place Western Texas College in Snyder. It is possible to have a four-way tie for forth place by the end of Wednesday night's matches.

MC's trip to NMMI features one of the conference's most challenging environments to play; Cahoon Armory. Typically the Broncos enjoy strong fan support from the student cadets who are enrolled at the Institute. Coach Kristina Gafford knows this all-to-well having formerly played for the Lady Chaps only a few short years ago. The Lady Chaps will need strong and sustained focus to compete in tonight's match. The Broncos are a consistent presence in the national polls and they are no stranger to post-season play.
Go Lady Chaps!
