Midland College Lady Chaps at Clarendon College Bulldogs

The Midland College volleyball team returned to the win column with a 25-21, 25-17, 17-25, 25-20 (3-1) victory versus Clarendon College Wednesday night at Clarendon.  The win improved the Lady Chaps to 11-8 this season and 3-4 in the WJCAC.  The win also moved the Lady Chaps into striking distance of a post-season berth as they enter the second half of conference play. 

Midland College is currently one game back of Amarillo College for 4th place in conference standings as of last night's win.  The top four teams from the WJCAC and NTJCAC advance to the NJCAA Region 5 Volleyball Tournament in Weatherford, TX.

Sophomore Luisina Sandrone displayed her usual outstanding play, posting a "double-double" with 17 kills and 11 digs.  She also had three service aces in the contest.  Freshman setter Mia Bell chipped in with her own "double-double" recording 24 assists and 17 digs versus the Bulldogs.  The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 21-7 and 1-6 in 2025.

The Lady Chaps will next face the Western Texas College Westerners on Saturday, October 11th @ 2:00 p.m. at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center in Midland.  Midland College defeated Western Texas 3-1 on September 17th in the WJCAC opening match in Snyder.  The Westerners are 0-7 in conference heading into Saturday's match.   

The Westerners are led by Anayah Sinclair who has 170 kills in 24 matches (2.1 k/s) and Savhanna Thompson who is second on the team with 158 total kills (1.9 k/s).
